This video from aish.com totally made my day. And for the record...it didn't make me miserable at all!

The Weekend that began and ended in pi and other bits of randomness...
In honor and celebration of Pi Day, I hereby recognize the importance of pie (or Pi) in regards to the past weekend. Since it's Friday again already, I have a lot to tell and several pictures, I'll share the whole story in segments...since putting it all together would make the tale enormous and a bit hard to get through....
One of my closest friends, Jamie and her husband, Taylor, celebrate Pi Day because of it's significance to their relationship. Each year, they host a party featuring just about anything round, fruity/creamy/chocolatey, and hopefully dalloped with whipped cream. For one reason or another, we have yet to attend this delicious event, but since this year was particularly important, I decided I needed to contribute.
Jamie has started a non-profit organization for those who suffer from the genetic illness, Epidermolysis Bullosa to enable them to become more independent and better able to handle the difficulties that come with this devestating illness. It was decided that their annual pie party would become a pie auction fund raiser. Which meant they needed a lot of pie.
In between getting Bunny to her cousin's princess party, attending a wedding dinner and getting He-Man off to work, I determined to deliver a scrumptious looking banana cream pie.
It really should have been. I have been to her home dozens of times. I'm terrible with directions and very rarely take the easy way to a destination. This was the case on Friday night as I spent over an hour trying to find her house and getting more and more frustrated in the process. I eventually gave up and went on my way.
After the dinner, Bunny's party and a good re-chilling of the pie at my SIL's house, I attempted delivery again and again wondered aimlessly for another hour.
This has led me to a new theory of where road rage comes from. All these people who find themselves completely and utterly unreasonable behind the wheel must be struggling with pie delivery. Perhaps the whipped cream is melting or the crust is falling to pieces because desparation can lead a person to craziness.
My delirium wasn't quite as bad as when I was dressed like a Disney Princess and lost one of the many bridges in Portland, trying to get back home, wanting only to kick off my princess high heels, tiara and puffy sleeves....but it was close.
By 11 pm, I was boiling with frustration and conjured up a scernario where this was all He-Man's fault (I'm still ashamed of this). I was still seething when I arrived home, pie in hand, ready to stick that pie in a place that would no longer make it presentable to anyone and proceeded to rant to my poor husband.
Ever so wisely, he withheld all looks of total confusion and just apologized profusely for, well, whatever it was. By morning, I was completely mortified and desparate to make it up to him, informing him that I would make him a pie of his choice within the next week. If he could get the pie delivered within 20 minutes, I would make two. He made it in about 15 minutes.

From now on, Pi Day will be forever known as my cousin's wedding anniversary. On March 14, my beautiful cousin, Megan, took time off from her architecture program and married her wonderful boy. I've never seen her so happy.
Here she is with her father, my uncle. She's positively glowing and he looks so distinguished.
Bunny was asked to be a flower-girl.

Button Nose discovered the thrill of letting loose on the dance floor and cut a serious rug.
But, her happy dance was stopped short when the next Karate Kid did the 'wax-on/wax-off' move a little to close to her dancing space.
WAPOW! Let's face it, sometimes you're Danny Larusso and other times, your Johnny, nursing a wicked bloody nose.Meanwhile, our spotlight loving Sunshine, did her best to squelch the green eyed monster while Bunny preformed her flower girl duties.
With all the ruffles, fluff, hair spray, bobbie pins and body sparkles, I begin to have some major concerns for the little He/She that is current residing in my womb. If it is in fact a she, I have no need to fear. BUT, if this child is a boy, are we in trouble or what?!
NEWS FLASH...very, very good news!!! He-Man and I received our tax return and nearly cleared up the rest of our personal debt accrued from the past 8 years of schooling and 2 years of post-post grad! We are determined to have no other debt other than school debt by summer so we can start making those wonderful student loan payments.
I can not describe the relief that accompanies this new development. I'm so grateful for this blessing and can't put into words how much joy that has meant to our family! If I could, in honor of a nearly debt-free St. Paddy's day, I'd jump up and click my heels...Heck! I'm gonna do it! Just not in public.
So, here's a bite of pie to celebrate the awesomeness of Pi-Day and all that comes with it. Bon Appetit!

The AWESOMENESS of my brother-in-law...

When I met my husband's family, there were 6 boys and one darling little girl. The whole family was instantly lovable, particularly He-Man's kid sister and youngest brothers.
I've become increasingly more impressed with the people these youngsters are becoming. (I say 'youngsters' with a bit of candor. They were only a few years younger than my very mature 15 years) They are good, kind and loving human beings with an incredible potential to do great good.
Recently, the youngest of He-Man's brothers came to live in the basement apartment of our home. It has been a fantastic experience and a great opportunity for our family to become reacquainted with him, who shall be referred to as Ron...since when I began reading the 'Harry Potter' he was who I envisioned Ronald Weasley to look like.
Ron laughs at all our jokes, however miserable the delivery is.
He's incredibly kind and loving to our children, even when redirecting behavior. In fact, he has swooped in and saved certain toddlers from seemingly eternal stinkiness by changing particular toddler's noxious diapers...even before we knew we were heading for disaster!
He's so willing to help. He's been watching my kids during my Cert, Garden and CPR classes recently. I was touched last night when he freed up his schedule just in case I planned to go to a class our community has been offering. (I was suffering from pregnancy-induced exhaustion and decided to stay home and catch up next week)
Not a night goes by when he doesn't compliment my cooking. He-Man is good at this too so put them together and I'm beginning to feel like a gourmet chef! Don't worry, I won't let it go to my head.
One of my favorite things is when we get to sit down and chat. He has amazing insights into the world because of his kindness and his generous spirit. I've never heard him say a negative thing about anyone!
So, today, I'm feeling particularly blessed to have him as my friend and brother and wanted to share.
You rock, Ron!

'E' eats EVERYTHING!
This is solid evidence that Button Nose will eat just about any kind of food. Here, she is enjoying Garlic Stuffed Olives. After she ate 5 of them , thus ensuring she'll be warding off vampires anywhere within a 20 mile radius, I put the jar away. This was her reaction.
Hopefully, when she's older, we'll be able to get her to eat a hand full of these before she goes on a date.
